One-on-One Book Coaching
As your book coach, I’ll hold your hand and kick your ass into gear.
Writing can be a lonely job, with only you and your imaginary friends hanging out all day. But that doesn’t have to be the case. It does not matter where you are at in your writing journey, if you’ve never written a book before, if you’ve started a book but don’t know where to go, if you’ve written a book but know that it needs help before diving into a full developmental edit, I can help you at any of these stages.
As your book coach, I’ll will not write your book for you. But I will help you figure out the plot (even if you are a pantser), strengthen character depth, work on weaving in more tension, learn to cut out passive voice, and feel confident in your writing!
I’ve created three different tiers of coaching: Gentle Nudges, Middle, and Boss Mode.
Each package lasts for ONE month but can be bought in groups of 3, 6, or 12 months.
What you get:
You can pick from one of the three packages below. Each Book coaching with me includes:
-
- An introductory goal setting call, figuring out where you’re at and where you want to be.
- Limited email q&a’s throughout the week.
- A schedule based around YOUR writing pace.
- Accountability and weekly check-ins on your word count goals.
- Weekly or bi-weekly plotting sessions.
- An in-depth critique of your current pages.*
*This is not a developmental or line edit. It is a critique of specific issues we are working on together.
Who It’s For:
Individual Book Coaching is good for everyone. Some examples of what book coaching can help with are:
-
- Plotting and outlining your next book or series
- Writing your first book
- In-depth help with revisions
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Casey on several projects, and have come to appreciate and depend upon her keen eye and unique insight. She’s the perfect combination of a devoted reader and a consummate professional, and her feedback consistently elevates the overall quality of my work as an author. From characterization to themes and plot, Casey is able to identify potential issues and make sound recommendations for improvement. She’s become my trusted partner and an indispensable resource, and I would highly recommend her services to writers at all levels of the game.”

Romancing YOUR Story
A Group Book Coaching Intensive
ThiWrite your book and make friends at the same time!
For three months, I will work closely with 6 romance writers as you write your book (or books). From weekly goal setting chats to weekly group plotting sessions, we will also have group writing sprints, and you will have plenty of access to me and everyone else in the group for support!
It doesn’t matter what your writing goals are or where you’re at in your project. One author wants to spend the first month finishing her first draft of her first book, and then spend the next two months on dev edits and starting the first draft of book 2. You can pick your own goals to work towards!
The investment is $2850 for all three months! This is a steal compared to my one-on-one coaching rates.
The schedule for the group coaching are:
- January 1st – March 31st, 2023
What you get
This intensive will include:
-
- Goal setting for all of your 2023 writing
- Bi-weekly 90-minute meetings on Sundays and Thursdays
- Group coaching where everyone gets time to talk about their current issues in their WIP, from plot holes to unruly descriptions, you’ll get invaluable immediate feedback and advice from Casey and the other writers
- Get paired with a critique partner from the group, to work with one-on-one outside of the meetings
- A group text for everyone in the intensive, for those pesky, late night questions
- A one-on-one plotting session, with just you and Casey, each month (3 total!)
- Up to 20,000 words critiqued by Casey every month (up to 60K total!)
- Fun homework (like watching movies or TV shows)
- Friendship!
- Yell, “Damn it. Casey is right,” at least once a week when I point out a plot hole. (Maybe every other week.)
*This is not a developmental or line edit. It is a critique of specific issues we are working on together.

Individual Plotting Sessions
Quick Calls, Lasting Results
Are you feeling stuck with your story? Are your friends and family sick of you asking for help with your fictional world? Or only giving you unhelpful advice? Talking to an impartial editor is sometimes all the help you need. This is perfect for writers who are suffering from writer’s block or who want extra clarity in the story they are currently writing.
-
- Ask me anything (plot, characters, etc.) and get productive feedback
- Organize and link existing ideas
- Pinpoint where you are blocked and how to get past that – even if it means rewriting
- Put our heads together to brainstorm new possibilities
- Clarify the big-picture
How It Works:
I will read an outline and/or a synopsis, and 5 pages of your manuscript. We will sit down and discuss it via a conference call in detail. You can ask me anything, and I will ask you questions meant to inspire you.
Rate: $75 for a 30-minute session OR $150 for a 60-minute session
If extra reading or conference calls are needed for your session, additional rates may apply.
Who It’s For:
Individual calls are good for any writer, at any stage of the process. Some examples of what we can do during a call are:
- Quick plotting help before you start writing
- If you’re stuck in the middle of a scene and need to talk it through
- If you have writer’s block and need help getting back on track
- Help plotting before diving into your next round of revisions
“I worked with Casey on a plotting session before diving into edits for my second draft. My goal was to strengthen my conflict and get an overall clearer direction for my plot, and I was very pleased with the result! Casey was able to pick up on plot issues and she gave me a great idea on how to tie my sub-plot and main plot together. You know when you get an idea and it rings so true, it’s like it was always meant to be? That’s how I felt with Casey. I’m pretty sure she saved me a couple of drafts. Highly recommend this as a pre-revision step!”
